Improvements In Usability

1. Wish List

A wish list can keep your customers engaged with your e-commerce store. If a customer finds an item while randomly navigating the Shopware store, he can place it in the product wish list and save them for later doesn’t matter if the user is on the product details page, listing page, or shopping cart page. The Wish list functionality is for both users – those who have logged into the site, as well as the visitors who are browsing your store for the first time. Go through this documentation to learn how to use the Wish list.

2. Currency Related Price Adjustments

For different currencies, the rounding system for a common price can be different. For e.g. in Swiss Rappen it is customary to round up or down to 5 Rappen. There are very rare instances of invoices with an amount like 10,44. The last decimal should be either 0 or 5, which makes it 10,45 Rappen.

For such instances, there are flexible solutions in Shopware for rounding up prices in different ways. Now you are able to:

  • Adjustment of chosen price rounding setting for each currency
  • Define the nearest decimal places (e.g. price rounding for Rappen, rounding to the nearest integer, etc.)
  • Adjustment of settings for each shopping cart item or final sum.
  • Navigate to Settings > Shop > Currency for configuration of prices rounding.

3. User-Defined Search Index & Ranking

As an online ecommerce retailer, you must know the audience operates, what are their interests, their searching words, and what they are looking for. Consequently, the search functionality in your ecommerce store should make sure that the visitors get search results for what they are looking for. In Shopware 6.4, you can even customize the search functionality of your store as per your requirements in a very specific manner. For instance, you can decide whether the search terms should be connected as AND or OR. It can impact how many search results you will deliver. You can also decide which search criteria are relevant and how they can impact the search of customers with their shopping experience overall. For knowing more about the search function, visit this page.

4. “Starting from” Prices For Product Variables

The prices of products vary as per the colour, size, material, and many other factors. As a smart businessman/woman, you must always display the lowest price first in “starting from” to gain the customers’ interest and keep them engaged. Earlier you could only show a price range in the storefront, from the lowest price to the highest. In Shopware 6.4, the feature has been changed, now only the lowest price will be displayed like this “starting from 4,99 $”. However, in the product listing the variable will be shown. You can more information for this in this documentation.

5. Quickly Choose Payment Options

The checkout process plays an important role in the conversion rate. Thus, every improvement in this segment is quite important. In Shopware 6.4, now you will that the unnecessary actions have been removed from the checkout process. From now on your customers can see all available payment options at a glance, whereas before they had to click a button. Get more information about the payment process in this documentation.

6. Improved Menu

The menu of the Shopware has been improved in many different ways so to make your online business even easier and transparent. Here are a few edits:

  • The colour palette has been redesigned for an optimized display of “hover” and “active” states.
  • Users can easily navigate the menu in an effortless flow when you go to other menu levels using a mouse.
  • Another level has been added to the menu.
  • You can now as many sub-menus as you wish, but the previously opened sub-menu will get close as soon as you will open a new menu.

7. Product Details In The Administration

In the ecommerce industry, there is a huge range of products. That’s why different merchants have varied product configuration requirements. A merchant knows what is necessary and sensible when integrating products in the store. With Shopware 6.4 you can now decide which product details to configure in your Shopware store. For e.g. you can apply a product mask or use the simplified mode. The product page has also been redesigned for better clarity. Go through Shopware user documentation to know more about product integration and the product mask.

8. Savings Grids In User Settings

In Shopware 6.4 you can save the grids in the admin for each user individually in your database. It means the personal settings are not just locally stored but will be saved regardless of the device. Thus you don’t have to switch the setting while working on another device. As a result, your last implemented grid settings will be saved and you won’t have to perform new grid settings for the modules.

9. New for Self-Hosted Shopware Versions: Purchasing and Managing Apps and Plugins

Earlier in a self-hosted Shopware version, you could only manage plugins using the plugin manager. It requires a lot of efforts to install and manage apps. Now the process has been made easier and the plugin manager has been replaced. To manage plugins and apps, there is a new menu setting Extensions > My extensions. In addition, under Extensions > Store you can find a direct integration of the extensions store.
